Lists & Campaigns¶
The CV Marketing class. Learn to build and maintain targeted lists, run campaigns and events off them, and keep outreach compliant with consent.
Backbone guide: CV Marketing.
Objectives¶
By the end you can: - Build a dynamic, filter-driven list from any object and maintain its members. - Share a list and refresh it by query. - Add list members or whitespace opportunities to a campaign. - Check a contact's consent state before including them in outreach.
Prerequisites¶
ClientVerse Introduction, and access to CV Marketing.
Agenda¶
- Lists — the three types (Firm, Personal, Working) and Static vs. Dynamic (dynamic lists are post-MVP). Review a list across its tabs — Details, List Members, Audit & Files, Sharing, List Builder — with Source Lists on the right. (Business Process Library §3.8.)
- Add a list & add members — New → Firm/Personal/Working → name → type → tag → status. Five ways to add contacts: from a contact (Engagement tab), from a Contact list view (select → Add to List), individually on List Members, from a Source List (Inclusion/Exclusion), or via List Builder (filter → select → Add to List). Remove via List Members → row menu → Delete.
- Campaigns — the record types: Client Event, Content, Firmwide Internal Event, Sponsorship, Webinar. Review a campaign (Overview, Details, Invitees, Activity); set Team, Tags, and Source Lists (the recipients). Add a campaign (New → type → name required → details).
- Activate → marketing automation — check the Active box to make the campaign available to the MAP; the MAP pulls the associated lists and sends, then engagement/submissions flow back. (§3.9 events, §3.10 consent.)
- Reporting & export — the marketing tiles on the dashboard (content, sponsorships, events); the campaign/event report folders; Export Invitees.
Hands-on (homework)¶
The real post-class homework: 1. Create a new static list and add contacts to it. 2. Create a campaign for an event — notice the event-specific fields. 3. Create a campaign for a content mailing — notice how the fields differ. 4. Review the marketing dashboard in more detail and subscribe (optional).
You're ready when…¶
You can stand up a targeted list from scratch, attach it to a campaign, verify consent, and pull the results out — without help.
