ClientVerse Introduction¶
The foundation class everyone takes first. It gets new users into the system, teaches navigation and search, walks the core records (companies and contacts), and establishes the vocabulary the rest of ClientVerse is built on.
Objectives¶
By the end you can: - Log in, navigate ClientVerse, and use global search. - Review, add, and update companies and contacts, and add a contact to a list. - Read the platform vocabulary — Experience, Matter, Opportunity, Connection — and the Classification system. - Get a quick overview of the dashboards and know how to report a bug.
Prerequisites¶
A ClientVerse login and your role's permission set.
Agenda¶
- What ClientVerse is — a Salesforce-based CRM replacing InterAction; the five apps (CV Marketing, CV BD, CV Lawyer, CV Experience, CV Admin); where the data comes from (financial system, ERM email harvesting, events, migration).
- Navigation — logging in, the home dashboard, the navigation bar and tabs, the App Launcher, favorites, and alerts.
- Terminology & Classifications — the 7 classification types that tie records together: Area of Law, Practice Groups, Industries, Geographies, Offices, BD Initiatives, Type of Work. (See the GLOSSARY.)
- Global search — find any company, contact, or opportunity; filter results.
- Companies — quick search and list views (Recently Viewed vs. All Companies; pin a default; sort by clicking a column; the per-object search bar; Filter icon → Add Filter → Field → Operator → value → Save). Review a company across its tabs — Overview, Client Details, Contacts, Opportunities, Engagement, Tags, Plans, Matters, More — with the always-visible right rail (potential duplicates, hierarchy, notes, history). Add a company (New → record type Prospective Client / Client / Former Client / Other → Company Name required) and edit (Edit button or the inline pencil). Add-company permissions vary by firm — some restrict it to the CRM team via Support Ticket.
- Contacts — quick search and list views (same mechanics). Review a contact across its tabs — Overview, Details, Relationships, Opportunities, Matters, Work History, Engagement, Activity History. Add a contact (New → record type Client Contact / Firm Personnel / Former Client / Prospective / Personal / Other → Last Name required; add company, email, city, state). Add to a list from the contact's Engagement tab → List Memberships → New.
- Dashboards — a quick overview (each role's class goes deeper).
- Feedback — the Support Ticket button on every page (description + screenshot).
Hands-on (homework)¶
The real post-class homework: 1. Access the system via the provided link and save it as a favorite. 2. Practice the global search — try companies, contacts, and opportunities; click through the result options. 3. Search for and review a client company's details. 4. Find one of your key client contacts and review what's there. 5. Review your home dashboard in more detail and subscribe to it (optional).
Short version (admin assistants)¶
A 30-minute cut covers logging in, navigation, basic searching, adding/updating a contact + adding to a list, and the "what is ClientVerse" intro — without the company and dashboard depth.
You're ready when…¶
You can get into the right app, find any record, read a company and contact, add a contact to a list, and define the core terms and classification types.
